Joanne Berg (B.S., University of Wisconsin–La Crosse; Executive M.B.A., University of Wisconsin–Madison) serves as the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management and reports to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. She is an avid proponent of strategic planning and promotes a work environment that informs and empowers decisionmakers who can positively impact student success.

In cooperation with the Division of International Studies and Programs, Berg serves as a consultant to Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan to help build the University’s enrollment management infrastructure—particularly as it relates to registrar services. Berg serves as co-chair for the UW–Madison Identity Management Leadership Group and co-sponsors a campuswide student services group called Crossroads with the Dean of Students. Berg also serves as point person for the campuswide initiative to raise funds and allocate dollars to expand access to low-income students.

Vice Provost Berg began her work at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1987 with the Graduate School where she served as Assistant and then Associate Dean for graduate admissions and academic services. Prior to that, Berg was the Director of Admissions at the University of Puget Sound School of Law (now Seattle University) in Tacoma, Washington. She recently served as interim Chief Information Officer from 2010–11.
